My husband sent my pip review form back 8 days ago. I told him to get recorded delivery/signed for but the lady behind the counter advised him just to get 1st class tracked. I've rang pip today and they said they still haven't received it. The deadline is tomorrow so he has extended it for two weeks.
Has anyone else had such a big delay in postage? Surely when it was upgraded to first class it should have been received in a day or two. Will pip send another form if they don't receive it and I ring them before this deadline passes? Do they text you when they receive it?

I would not send any important document by what used to be termed recorded and is now called signed for as they are put in the sack with the ordinary post and the only difference is that a signature is asked for. I have had occasions where this post has been lost and the Royal Mail said they have no idea where they were.
I would advise using Royal Mail Fully Tracked as that post is separated from the ordinary mail and it's progress is tracked through the Royal Mail network.

I can only share my recent experience.
I have used 1st and 2nd signed for services. Haven't experienced any delays.
Have you got the postal receipt? You normally get a receipt at the post office which has the tracking # .
i use the Royal mail app to save this info and track it.
I've been able to see a 'signed for confirmation' that the dwp mail handing have received it. which is proof of return. the important bit 🚩
It then takes a while for the evidence to get scanned and added to the case file. Phone Agents cant see it until that process is complete.
DWP don't txt to confirm receipt. I always ring to follow up and get peace of mind.
