Just sharing some information from Capita regarding their recording of assessments.

I called them yesterday as I've still not had the CD of the recording of my PIP assessment.

I didn't get the link to download the digital version, which, according to their website today, 8th May 2026 11am states -

"After your appointment, you will receive a link to your recording by text message or email, and a separate text message with a one-time password. The password will expire after 24 hours and can only be used once to access and download your recording. This is to protect you and the information you provided at your appointment."

When I called, I was advised that they no longer send out the links as they don't keep the digital files. I poi red out what the website says and she said that she will make sure it's changed, as it 'should have been updated'.

The woman I spoke with was very reluctant to answer the direct question of 'was my assessment recorded?', so I'm just assuming it wasn't.

I don't know how much truth is in any of what she said about the recording, but I just wanted to pass this information on and stress that people should make every effort to record their assessments themselves. I know I'm glad I did now!
