Legacy protected sdp was created by george
Hi did ask this but on end of previous post so thpught id do new post .
I have sdp and wrag amount ( from when you had a amount for being in wrag ) on my universal credit now . I was on esa income based and was moved over by dwp to uc in december hence my transactional amounts protected. My daughter is moving in in a while, and know i will lose my sdp , but was wondering if you knew how much the deduction that would be ?
Many thanks

Hi george
Have you looked at your UC monthly statement recently? Does it state an amount for the SDP? I have not come across this before and what is the amount?

Hi David , ive looked and it says
£400.14 standard single person
£158.76. limited capability for work
£516.36 Transitional protectio.
Im assuming my wrag amount.
( they stopped doing it now but i get it as got it before they ended it )
Its £30 somehing a week
And i also got the sdp payment which i think is £80 something so im thinking they will take the £80 something which amounts to £300 odd a month .
A big drop but not anything i can do if my daughter does decide to move back here .
Many thanks .

Hi george
Where in your UC statement you have just quoted is your SDP payment? Surely if it is there you would have the details of the actual amount?

I dont think im explaining myself im assuming the sdp is in the part that says transitional protection i thought the amount you used to get for being in the wrag group too , its too hard to work out im just going to have to wait and see if my daughter does come back to the area , it is understandable you lose the sdp if you dont qualify as not alone anymore but really hard that wgen she leaves its gone for ever as its a lot of money . Thanks for your replies il just have to wait and see , dreading it .

As you are now on UC, you won't lose any amount equivalent to the SDP which was payable when you were on income based ESA. Your transitional protection amount, which was calculated based on your overall income from benefits at the time you migrated, will only reduce as other income, for example your UC rates, increase.
