UC Claim was created by rachel1
Hi

I currently receive contribution based esa £145.90 a week, and pip standard mobility and high care. Our rent is £765.

My husband has been unemployed for 18 months. During that time he received 6 months of new style jsa. We have now put in a claim for universal credit.

The result has come back as giving us only £34 a month on top of my esa. There is no mention of housing costs or council tax help. I can't believe that this is right. I know we won't get full help for housing but the one bedroom rate in our area is £136 a week.

Do you have any advice on how we should proceed? Thank you.
