depends what info you have given them the form and any letters enclosed might be all they need, or they might write to a doctor your gp or someone who treats you at hospital,
then they might ask for a medical even if they want a medical given what they would do first i think it would be sometime before the need to go down that route became apparent, unless you have some reason or something wrong others have told you needs a medical ?
