Incapacity benefit

I'm a retired Police Officer, medically retired in 1999 after a car accident on duty. I was awarded Incapacity Benefit and told that i would not need to be assessed again as it was awarded for life.

However i am waiting to be called upto be assessed under this new system.

I have been assessed for DLA where a Dr from Atos came to my home, he was not English and had difficulty understanding me and vice versa.

I was refused anything so asked for a copy of the form he submitted and was disgusted to find it bore no resemblance to the answers i gave him.

I didn't bother to appeal as i knew everything was going to be revised and changed.

Having worked for a government agency of sorts i suppose i was shocked how corrupt and inaccurate the system appears to be.

I'm very glad i found this site as i'm sure i will have a battle ahead, and i'm sure the Police will be waiting for any result to then see if they can reduce my pension.

Welcome Jeremy. Yes it's staggering isn't it, the way vulnerable people are being treated. You have joined a great site that has been a real comfort to me. You will read some unbelievable reports of people's experiences with much worse to come. Every day is frightening for me and this forum helps me hang on with so many people in this boat of cruel LEGAL treatment.
