  			 				Hullo

I signed up to this site last week as I was due to have my dla appeal this afternoon. i had no help from the crb and little help from dial as they have had their funding cut.

i attended my appeal said all i needed to say (i hope) but they have said they need to look into it more and will write to me with a decision.

is this common? on the plus side at least they didn't turn it down again straight away but i now have a few more days worry ahead of me and im finding it very tiering and stressful. the only way i atteneded the hearing was to think it would be over soon.

my appeal was against their decision to turn down lower rate care and higher rate mobility which i have had since 1996. i can only hope that my honesty was evident and that they interpreted everything as they should have done. one lady did keep going on about potatoes tho...

any advice would be appreciated. the appeal was very scary but they werent rude just cross questioned a lot. wasn't too sure about the potatoe lady who dealt with the care side of things as she didn't seem to like me much but i suppose it's a hard job to do.

There are lots of reasons why there was no decision on the day. They wanted to re-read the evidence, research case law, maybe they just wanted to discuss it further and other commitments meant they could not do it there and then.

I know it's easier said than done, but sit tight, I am sure it will only be a couple of days at most.

i got my letter today reawarded higher rate mobility for 5 years longest period yet
they have taken away the lower rate care but i'm not going to appeal as i don't want to risk loosing my mobility componant also dont want to have to talk about potatoes again!lol

thank you your site is great and it really helped as i couldnt get any help from dial or cab as funding has been cut and i was really stressing- it helped reading about others who have gone through the process and what to expect on the day.

just hope that they sort the system out soon to prevent other honest applicants having to go through the same stress i did.
