New form from Atos after only 6 months ESA Awarded was created by Iamawindsurfer
My award for ESA in January after appeal has given me only 6 months respite, and I already have a form from Atos on my doorstep requesting that i fill in details about my disability AGAIN. Has anyone got any advice about this? I havent had much time to recover, and nothing has changed... it's a worrying situation and making me stressed out already, seriously I have had to ask the doctor for beta blockers, I am so upset at having to go through the whole process already once

Hi,
Sadly, if the WCA or and/or decision maker or tribunal indicate/feel your circumstances may change in a short time, then that is when ESA will be reviewed and one has to go through the process again.
It seems claimants are going to have to get used to being assessed more frequently under ESA than previous benefits sorry to say.

To the detriment of their health and at enormous ongoing expense to the taxpayer. It makes a nonsense of any claims to be making savings.

I totally agree.
I don't know how the frequent reassessments for ESA purposes in the case of claimants with chronic, long-standing and perhaps even lifelong illnesses/disabilities, can serve any useful purpose? This will be pertinent for current IB/IS claimants upon migration to ESA, and particularly for those who were PCA exempt. In the latter case, what makes these claimants suddenly able to hold down a full-time job, when the DWP previously declared that they could not?
On the question of cost to the taxpayer, the already ever-increasing amount of costly ESA appeals must surely be a false economy, which I believe could never be sustained over a prolonged period of time.
