Hi Neil

There is no way of knowing who phoned you as many organizations have 0800 numbers.

They will write to you regardless of whether you answer the phone. The phone call is just to inform you of what happens in case you have questions to ask. Your benefit should not be affected by not answering the phone.

Regards

Derek

I find the website whocallsme.com useful for finding out such things.

Just yesterday I had a missed call on my mobile. That website revealed the calling number to be one used by the AA, probably wanting to flog me more insurance or something.

With the benefit of hindsight, it may have been preferable to have responded to the letter from Atos in writing when they wrote and told you that they were about to telephone you about the initiation of the WCA.

At this juncture you could have informed them not to 'phone you, but to conduct all enquiries and information about the impending WCA in writing. Failure to do so having informed Atos of your wishes, could be construed as a breach of the Equality Act 2010. This has been discussed in relation to telephone calls from the DWP and/or Atos in this thread HERE.
