Yeah, I think somethings well out of order going on here. She can't possibly demand something that even JSA claimants don't have to do.

This women has to be reminded that she'd dealing with a person with along standing medical condition, and not some fit person who's claiming JSA.

The cynic in me is suspecting that this is what the governments after, that we'll either get scared into accepting work that we can't do or made so ill with their demands that we sign off completely or get sanctioned as we aren't seen to be complying.

Maybe a quick letter to your local MP would be in order, just to inform others whats going on here.

I suspect not. My theory is she's just trying it on I'm afraid and hoping the OP doesn't know his rights and will comply without question.

You state that a man
. under the age at which a woman of the same age as the claimant attains pensionable age (see DMG 41014)

Could you please tell me how it affects me?
I have been on IB since 1993 am due for a review in March 2012.I will be 60 in February 2012.

Where would this leave me as regards to benefits?

You will be transferred to ESA as you do not reach State Retirement Age before 6/4/2014.

According to the State Pension Age calculator at DirectGov (see here ), a woman, the same age as yourself will reach SRA in November 2013, so if you are transferred before this date, you should expect to attend WFIs.

Gordon

edit: should be 6/4/2014 not 6/4/2011

Thanks for all your input, I really appreciate it

I got my wife to print the relevant PDF off at work (chapter 53) and will take it into the JC when I next go.
More than likely I will get sanctioned for being a troublemaker

The link for the relevant PDF is:

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/dmgch53.pdf

Just broke it to my wife that we will lose ESA benefit come next August because she works, strange how those that don't want work get money thrown at them

Again, thanks for all your input and help, maybe it's my turn to win the lottery
