Freelance welfare rights workers, have your say. 8 years 9 months ago #71679

Can you spare a few minutes to answer some questions about freelance welfare rights workers and, if you wish, to be entered for a draw to win £50.

Back in June of this year we published an article asking whether you thought it would be a good idea for us to let welfare rights workers who had been made redundant or had their hours reduced advertise their services on a paid-by-the-hour basis.

The article got a lot of comments, many positive and some negative. Now we’d really like to hear from you about what you think.

The idea would be to set up a separate website where welfare rights workers could advertise their services to claimants. There would be a PayPal ‘Buy Now’ button so that individuals could pay by the hour for advice or other help.

We would vet any advisors to make sure they were who they said they were and had worked where they said they’d worked and we would also help them to advertise their services. But we wouldn’t take any part in the giving of advice.

Your answers to these questions will help us to decide whether to go ahead with this idea or not.

We'd like to pilot the survey with people using the forum first, to see if there are any problems with it.

The survey is here .

Thanks for your help.

Hi All,

Thanks to all those who have responded already, there's some very useful points being made both for and against.

Do keep them coming.

Thank you to everyone who pointed out the problem with question 4, we've now fixed this.
