DLA worth the wait was created by Bendybody
I just got awarded DLA high rate mobility and middle rate care after a 6 moth wait.
Used all the advice from here and described my problems as accurately as I could. Many thanks B&W, well worth the subscription
I have fibromyalgia and arthritis. Applied 3 years ago and was turned down as probably didnt give enough info on form and GP was unsupportive. At that time I couldnt face appealing.

This time they turned me down at first because I had been living in Sweden but I went to CAB and they asked for a reconsideration and boy am i glad I did, backpay paid within 3 days!

Took 6 months and had to endure a 2 hour medical but I cant complain as it was an old GP but he was very thorough and gave me a full physical examination.

Now I just have to hope the IB to ESA goes as well. Sent off my ESA50 in December and still not been called for a medical. Dont want to rock the boat by enqiring but I was wondering if it would be worthwhile sending in a copy of the DLA medical report which I have requested, that is of course if it arrives before the dreaded brown envelope inviting me to an ESA medical.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Congratulations on your DLA award! Thanks for letting us know - and for your kind words about B+W

It won't do any harm to send in your DLA your DLA med report - as long as nothing contradicts what you have put on your ESA50.

Thanks Mrs H, both forms filled in around the same time so should not be anything contradictory.

Will just have to wait and see how long before DWP sends the requested info.
