Strange Arrears when ESA reassessed!! was created by smc
I had an interesting letter today and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar one.
The letter was telling me about a change in the rate of ESA payable to me but when I look at details it is exact same as I was told when rates changed in April but this letter goes on to say arrears of £16.80 would be paid to me.
This baffled me as my payments have been as they should so I gave them a call and the lady was as baffled as me as there were no notes in claim. She said she would send note to Benefits Centre and they would call me, they did and the lady there said she can't say for sure but suspects it is to do with difference in WRAG rates, am not convinced, so was wondering has anyone else had this or similar? Has there been some computer blip or something?? She did say given it is only £16 odds not to worry, they would be more concerned as finding details why if it was £160!!
The good thing was she was able to say was decision was made last week that I am to stay in WRAG (sent ESA50 form in a month ago) and prognosis is 2 years.
I would like copy of paperwork, what is the form I need to ask for given no medical has been done?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Can't comment on the letter, but the following FAQ explains what reports you can ask for.
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

Thanks for link Gordon!
I will be interested to hear from anyone who has had similar letter, just so bizarre, and that DWP themselves don't see to know.
I am relieved to know I have 2 years (just praying I have been told correct info) and can focus on getting better without stress of assessment.

Just to warn you that the 2 years is only advisory and I have heard recently (on another forum) of several people who were reassessed quite a while before they expected (even allowing for the forms being sent out aprox 4 months ahead of time).

Yep I know it is only advisory, when I was transferred in November it say 1 year and it was only 7 months and the ES50 landed on my doormat!
At least with 2 years I will hopefully get over a year and be able to concentrate on getting some help for my condition and not have to worry about being under stress of the forms, medicals etc....
I do still find it baffling and worrying about the state of the system, paying out arrears and no-one can tell me why!!
