Filling in the esa50 was created by Derekq
Hello Forum
Sorry to ask this question because I think in the past I have seen some info on this question .....
Please can anyone let me know who or which organisation would be the best to fill in my esa50 as my hand writing is poor to say the least and I would struggle.
Thanks, Derek.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Many of the organisations that provide help are inundated by requests. However, it is always worth seeing what help you can get

A Citizens Advice office or a welfare advice office should be able to help you complete the ESA50. See:-
Legal adviser finder.
It is recommended that you do not use solicitors if possible, as they may levy a charge for their services unless you receive income-related benefits such as Income Support.
Alternatively, you could fill in the interactive version of the ESA50 from this link:-
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire.

Hi Mrs Hurtyback & crazydiamond
Yes it seems these organisations are being streched, I will have to ring around.
I just wondered if any one organisation would have a more experience than any other as there is only one chance to fill in this form, I believe a lot hinges on how its worded so need some help.
Thanks again for your replys.
Regards, Derek.

Hi Derek
I had an appalling experience with the CAB when I requested help with an appeal (before I knew anything about benefits), but I'm sure there are many good CAB caseworkers, so it may not be entirely possible to identify a particular agency as a good one - it largely boils down to the experience and competence of each caseworker.
There are also many local agencies that can assist with claims and appeals. Which ever agency you use, just make sure that you carefully read the ESA50 and confirm with your adviser that it is accurate and thorough.
Good luck
Derek

Mostly the people who go to organisations like CAB do so because they are in real trouble when it comes to working out the answers to the questions - that was me. I would also have had trouble with the handwriting bit, but could get help with that at home.
However, you clearly have no real problems with a computer! So, if you know what you want to say, but have problems with the handwriting, then there is another solution.
You can use the excellent guides produced by B&W to act as your "advisers". Then you can use CrazyDiamond's suggestion above. The Interactive version of the E50 form is available on your computer. You then type in the answers and can print out the result - complete with everything you have typed in - and post it off (keeping a copy for yourself, you may well need to know what you said!). The the only bit you'll have to do by hand is the signature.
You could even try writing out the answers in your favourite word processor and checking them for spelling etc there. I believe that you could then copy and paste them into the form on your screen.
So - do check out the link Crazydiamond gave you, and see if getting round the handwriting issues (and any spelling ones which can go with handwriting ones) would solve your problem.
Of course if you have complex medical problems and don't know how to present them, then you may need face-to-face advice.
