Ending ESA CB will I get notice? was created by sugaplum
I expect my ESA to end in 4 weeks but so far have not heard. Will I be notified or will payments just stop. I am thinking of applying for a supersession. I won"t get ESA IR as have working husband. Not fit for work so won't get JSA either.
Any help much appreciated. I migrated from IB. With deteriorating health problems and put into wrag group. Since my only atos medical I have had 2 operations which I am not yet recovered.

Hi saac,

As you will see from the information on the link below, you should receive 8 weeks notice in writing that your ESA is due to end :

12 Month Limit for ESA(CB) – Implementation New

You should be invited to apply for IR ESA, I note that you think that you are not entitled to this.

You can apply for a review, (supersession) if your condition has deteriorated, or you now suffer from different medical conditions.

You could even try and make a late appeal, which can be done upto 13 months after a decision, if you can show good cause for the late appeal.

The only other thing I can suggest is that you contact your local DWP office to see what is happening.

Thankyou.
I have not had any notice. Wondering if I should contact them and ask when my benefit ends. Or would I shoot myself in the foot! The Atos report suggested I would not be fit for at least 2 years. Do you think I may have this CB ESA for 2 years, or like everyone else, 12 months?

Since the Atos medical last year I have had two operations that they don't know about. I want to apply for a supersession if my benefit is ending. But I have not had any notification of it ending. I understand that I cannot apply for supersession once the benefit ends, this is why I am worrying.

I won't be entitled to IR ESA because my husband works full time.
Help much appreciated.
Thanks
