Where the form does not arrive on or about one's 'normal review date' for IB then what about migration, is it likely the DWP are 'behind' with this huge task ? I would have thought they would auto send a form anyway
My concern would be that if the form is later said to not have arrived ( i.e they stop ones money and say it wasnt completed) what then ?
On the other hand, if one enquiries about it, this coiuld alert thjem early and they may migrate before they vwould otherwise have got around to it
I've read elsewhere that some people waited many months over their review date before they received a form
But Id thought that was all auto triggered

Hi XF,
The Migration process should involve an initial letter stating that the benefit that you are receiving is changing, then a "curtesy" phone call, then the arrival of the ESA50 through the post.
As seen in :
Benefits and Work resources.
Being transferred from incapacity benefit to employment and support allowance
From this link :
ESA Guides
It is unlikely that you would miss out on all three initial forms of contact as above, although obviously anything is possible.
Many members have reported that they have not been migrated on their normal review date, and we do know that the DWP/ATOS are in "Gridlock".
The only way to be sure, as you state, would be to contact the DWP. However, this may have the implications that you mention.
As always, it is entirely upto you.

I am in this position. My IB expiry date was 5.7.2012 and I have not received the dreaded brown envelope yet.
I just count every extra day as a bonus as I am on contribution based IB and will not qualify for income related ESA if I am lucky enough to be transfered onto Contribution based ESA for 1 year.
I was really pleased not to be transfered over early like some unlucky people. It is all just a lottery, one which none of us even bought a ticket for!!

Thanks Bro 58, I will 'keep my head down' but nonetheless make sensible preparations, notes, gather together my evidence, perhaps keep a dairy and so on. And each day/ week, or who knows, even months, delayed before it begins is a bonus
O.K. XF,

You could even start filling in the PDF ESA50 now, to relieve time constraints when you eventually receive one through the post.
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire
How long do I have to complete the ESA50?
ESA50 too big for the envelope
Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
Using our ESA Claims Guides, which I'm sure you know how to access.
