Appealing (on mental health grounds) was created by mcwali
I've been migrated from IB to WRAG ESA on mental health grounds. The ESA50 questionnaire doesn't cater adequately for mental health problems, so I didn't feel I categorically met the descriptors. I tried to provide additional information associated with the descriptors.

If you appeal to go into the Support Group can you only appeal SPECIFICALLY on whether you meet a descriptor/ (descriptors), or can you appeal more GENERALLY?(eg "the symptoms of my bipolar disorder taken as a whole mean that I am not capable of doing Work-Related Activity" [obvioulsy expanding on the debiliting nature of the symptoms which the descriptors on the ESA50 didn't include].

The ESA is not really a test of your ability to work, it is a test of whether you can meet very specific criteria. To access the Support Group you need to show how you meet those critieria

Qualifying for the support group

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
