Just wondered if there is a delay in esa50 being sent out from review date, anyone know ?
When it does arrive and I send it back what sort of time lapse is there between me returning the esa50 and being given a date for a medical, any personal experiances, would like to know.
Thanks, Derek.

If this is an ESA re-assessment, rather than a transfer from another benefit, then the forms are usually sent out 2-3 months in advance of the re-assessment date.Hello Forum

Based on recent posts, the time to a WCA assessment from returning the ESA50 is about 5-6 weeks, but there is some considerable variation,, with some waiting 11-13 weeks, if not longer. Asking for the WCA to be recorded, can considerably extend the time.

There are delays across the system, my review date was April 2014 but I recently got told I would be transferring from IB to ESA. It can take weeks or even months as there are backlogs in every part of the system. Your review date seems to be only a guide, it's not set in stone.
They are supposed to inform you by letter that you will be transferring if already on IB, this is followed up with a phone call from DWP and then a little while later you should get the ESA50. Then you have a month to complete that, then they will decide whether you need to face to face assessment. It's a waiting game, I'm afraid.

Hi D,
Many members have reported that they have not received a new ESA50 on there expected review date, so you are not alone there.
The ball is firmly in their court here, and you should continue to receive your current award of ESA until the DWP/ATOS instigate a WCA review.
Once you receive the ESA50, you will have 4 weeks to fill it in and return it by the deadline date that will be given to you.
You may or may not be required to attend a " Medical" but it is hard to say how long it will take to give you a decision.
See :
How long do I have to complete the ESA50?
How long until they make a decision?
How often will I be reviewed
If the review that you speak of is for your IB etc, as you have not yet been transferred over to ESA, then things are much the same, see :
IB, IS, SDA, Migration to ESA FAQ’s

Just to say thank you to the replys, sorry so slow in saying thanks.
Thanks for the info's and links from all who replied, it is usfull to get some sort of guide but as has been said it seems to very ... the waiting game.
The waiting for the esa50 is probably the worst part of it right now, every morning I wait for the thud on the floor.
I am still on IB and awaiting my turn (as a valued customer) to be shoved into the esa machine.
Thanks again to all who replied.
Regards, Derek.

If you haven't already done so, you could consider downloading the on-line ESA50 and starting to fill it in. This waiting period is also a good time to gather evidence to support your claim.
