I have already sent my ESA50 today to make sure it got in by the 21st but Atos said don't send the evidence with my form but I did anyway. Are they trying to confuse us deliberately, I wonder? Should I also be sending duplicates somewhere else?

You can send as much supporting evidence that you wish with the ESA50, from any source.
The advice that you refer to is that one should not send MED 3 sick notes/fit notes with the ESA50.
You can send copies of the ESA50 and/or any additional evidence to The DWP DM as a back up if you wish, just in case any evidence sent to ATOS gets "Lost".
