ESA - prognosis was created by judexx
I was awarded ESA - support group, but have just found out that this is with a prognosis of 6 months. I have physical and mental health problems and sent letters with my ESA50 from my GP and consultant both confirming that I have been seriously unwell for the last 15 years. Yet an ATOS physio thinks a return to work might be possible in 6 months !!
Is it ever possible to appeal/get a prognosis looked at again. I know that my GP and consultant will be supportive if there is anything that they can do - the stress is having a severe effect on my health - but that I am probably out of time for an appeal as it's about 7 weeks that I was notified of the award.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

ESA is actually an indefinite benefit that can be reassessed at any stage (after 3 months has passed since the original decision). The length of the award is not part of the decision and, therefore, it cannot be appealed against.

Thanks Mrs H - I thought that was the case. My GP is going to be furious when i tell her what they've done - just wanted to double check that there was nothing that she could do.
