ESA and DLA was created by mistymaiden1
Hi,

Been a member for a while decided to ask for some advice and experiences.

My partner is currently in receipt of ESA due to his depression, agoropgobia and social anxietys. We have been advised by the local moneymatters that we might be eligible for DLA as well.

We were just wondering if this is allowed ? Also if anyone else has done this and been sucessful and their experience with the process.

Thanks in advance

Absoloutely! Many people are on both ESA (which is an 'out of work' beneift) and DLA (which is given, in or out of work, to people who have care and/or mobility needs).

Why don't you have a look at our DLA claims resources and see whether you think hubby would qualify?

Thanks for the quick reply Mrs Hurtyback.

Yeah first thing we did was check the guides and read the adult on mental grounds one. We reckon that he would qualify on a number of points within the care part and possibly the mobility as well but that is just our opinion of course.

We were looking for advice and peoples experiences before going through the stress etc involved with applying and fighting the DWP and Atos :(
