Failed appeal WRAG > Support - placed in Support was created by JohnDeeEye
Hi
I waited more than a year to appeal to get into the support group - I lost.
Three months on I receive a DWP notice - they've placed me in the Support (no change of circumstances, except hit by Bedroom Tax).
I feel cheated after my appeal but happy I'm better off.
What's the deal? Should I risk asking why they don't back pay me 15 months?
TIA

Hi JD,
As you lost your appeal, the original adverse decision that you appealed remains unchanged.
Therefore, you are not entitled to any back payment of arrears owed.
This fresh decision made by the DWP is as the result of a review, therefore you are only entitled to the SG rate of ESA from the date of the review, and not before.
Congratulations on The SG award.
