By way of coincidence really my OH has discovered he has been moved from one group to the other. He was placed in WRAG after his initial ESA application, he appealed in writing but never heard anything.
He recently received a letter to inform of the new rates and when they will change, he has been repaying an overpayment so the letter was really to let him know when this repayment will be paid, hence the information about the support groups rates.

Is this common practice?
It is unfortunately becoming increasingly common, however, claimants are entitled to specific written notification of any Decision on their claim, so I would contact the DWP and ask for this to be issued.
