Hi . As well as having an outstanding DLA appeal , I have recently been informed that I have been moved from ESA support group to ESA WRAG group and as I have already had this allowance before, all ESA allowances have stopped. As advised we have written a "reconsideration" letter with a letter of support .from our GP which outlines my difficulties and problems. Can anyone advise on how long the reconsideration may take please.? Beginning to struggle to make ends meet. Regards Muzzer
I am sorry to hear that your ESA payments have now ceased because you have used up your 365 day in WRAG.
I'm afraid that it can take some months for the reconsideration to be carried out, it was 6 months in my case and I have heard of people waiting even longer. If the reconsideration does not go in your favour, you can appeal this decision within 1 month. If you had actually appealed, rather than asking for reconsideration, your case would have been automatically passed to the Tribunal Service if the recon did not go in your favour.
Have you checked to make sure whether you might be eligible for income-related ESA? If you are not, have you looked at the 'turn2us' site to see if there is anything else you can claim?
