She has been told to write for a reconsideration but they will not back date it to when he first applied - which was January 2013 - only until 12 June which clearly is because of PIP and a cost cutting exercise - can you point me in the direction as to what to write on their behalf?

Jan Pearl wrote: My daughter's partner has Crone's disease and has recently been turned down for DLA - which is ironic as she has become his physical carer whereas he meets her mental health needs!!! By default we have become carers to them both which has financial implications on us - whereas if they had money they will pay their friends. How they were turned down I do not know as he is quite frail and dependent even the visiting Dr said he was underweight!

Our recommendation is to appeal, a Reconsideration will be done as part of the appeal process and at the very least she will save time if the DWP do not overturn the Decision.
I am afraid we cannot advise what you/they should write, even if we had knowledge of their situation, which we do not, it is outside of the remit of the Moderators to do this.
