DLA to PIP was created by Devonshire dumpling
Hi
My DLA is due to run out on 23rd February 2014. Does this mean that I will receive a renewal pack from DWP which will be for the DLA or am I in the renewal category for PIP. I'm so confused over this and dreading it if its for PIP.

Hi Dd,
The wording that they have used regarding claimants with fixed term DLA awards being invited to claim PIP is not absolutely clear :
"From October 2013
From October 2013 the following DLA recipients will begin to have to claim PIP:
People with a fixed-term DLA award which expires from the end of February 2014" :
What is the timetable for introducing personal independence payment (PIP)?
However, if you look at this extract :
"DLA award ends after 24 Feb 2014: invited for reassessment to PIP.
DLA award ends before 24 Feb 2014: claim DLA (renewal) – invited to claim PIP at a later date."
From this "Map" :
www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/timetable-for-pip-replacing-dla-slides.pdf
As your DLA award ends on 23/02/14, and as the cut off date seems to be the 24/02/14 it would follow that you should be assessed under DLA criteria.
Maybe one of the other Mods could add their thoughts ?

Yes, that is what I would expect. However, whether DWP will abide by this is, of course, yet to be seen!
