Hi bs,

I have not read of such a request previously on the forum.

The only way to find out what may have triggered such a request would be to contact the DLA Unit.

Like Bro, I have never heard about such a request before and I sat on DLA Tribunals for 10 plus years.

Not sure of your age, but as I'm sure you've read on the forum, all DLA recipients aged 16-64 will at some time in the future be taken off DLA and transferred to PIP after a medical assessment.

I can only speculate that they've lost your date of birth and are asking for your birth certificate.

As Bro has advised, i can only suggest that you ask the DLA Unit in Blackpool, Tel: 08457 123 456
or e-mail them at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
