I questioned my WRAG status and asked them to reconsider with the fact they never asked my neurosurgeon and neurologist the important question of ..... Am I fit to work in the future, which I am not.
After 6 weeks I received a letter saying I have been moved onto support group, from WRAG after considering my case again. Great news, however, it's only for 6 months????? What happens afterm6 months? Do I have to,apply again or will I be extended to a further 6 months?
Why do they give differing timescales and can u be in support group, indefinitely like I am with dla?
Thanks for any answers.

Hi c,

6 months is a very short prognosis for the SG.

Unlike DLA where the length of a fixed term award forms part of the award legally, and can be appealed, The Prognosis (recommended length of award) of any ESA award is only a recommendation, does not form part of the award, and cannot be appealed.

Prognoses can vary from the minimum period which is 3 months, to the longest possible, which is 3 years :

See : How often will I be reviewed

From our : ESA FAQ’s

One should expect to receive a new ESA50 to begin the reassessment process around 8 weeks before the end of a prognosis period.

Actually, you should expect the forms in around 4 months time :(
