Hi I am a bit confused I sent off my renewal form for esa (I have been in the support group) the form had to be back 23 August the last 2 payments were as normal and appeard in my bank as Dwp Eesa the payment today has appeard as Dwp Jsa Bgc but the money was the same. Can any one please tell me what this means I have not had any letters from Dwp so am totally confused as to what is going on.. thankyou

I am sorry but I have no idea, I do know that the ESA payment system is piggy backed on the JSA one, so it may be a simple error, but the only way you will get a definitive answer is by contacting your local DWP office.

Sioux, You might be reassured to know 2 things -
Firstly, a claimant cannot be found 'fit to work' without a face2face assessment.
Secondly, even if a claimant is found fit for work, they then have to officially claim JSA (if that is what they choose to do) they cannot just be switched from one benefit to the other.
