TOPIC: PIP ASSESSMENT

PIP ASSESSMENT 4 months 4 days ago #232124

Hi, I will be attending my PIP renewal on Tuesday (worried sick) the last time I had to go to appeal. I have suffered from Mental Health problems for the last 11 years. Does anyone have any suggestions how to dress, act , answer questions etc. I just hate attending these interviews and I worry i will paint a brighter picture! My husband will be going with me.

Thanks

Hi Tullulah

In terms of what you should wear - wear whatever you would on a normal day at home.

In terms of what you should say - tell them the truth. Do not worry if everything does not come out the right way, or you need to stop and think. Take your time. If you need to take a break you should ask for one. If you don't understand a question or you lose your thread halfway through do not be afraid to ask the assessor to repeat it.

Take a copy of your assessment with you if you made one, so you can refer to it if necessary.

Read through your form and evidence the night before and look at the pip guide for the sort of questions that you might be asked. You may suddenly get a question that you're not expecting, but don't panic. This can sometimes be because they need to ask something personal to you.
