Assessment report 1 month 2 weeks ago #249919

Hi guys, I have just received a copy of my assessment report and I do not feel that it adequately represents our conversation what so ever. Is there anything I am able to do about this now or do I have to wait for a decision to be sent through?

Thanks in advance

Leanne

There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick.

Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.

Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.

Make sure that your letter makes it clear that you are not requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once a Decision has been made.

Hi Leanne, could I just ask how long after your assessment was it when you asked for the report? I was told 48 hours and I’m sure it was that previously but I rang and they said much longer at the moment. Thanks

Hi Sue,

I had to wait over 3 weeks for my report to be uploaded to the DWP system.

Thanks

Thanks. I actually got a text today to say mine had been uploaded so it was under 3 days for me. I phoned and she said she would send the copy today. Mine was a renewal, maybe if yours was a new claim that might delay it? Good luck challenging the report

Hi, I had my assessment about 10 days ago. I had a txt 2 days after saying that they had received it but there has been nothing since. No letters, txts . What and when should I receive something? It’s driving me mad waiting! I want to call and ask but don’t want to hear that it’s a refusal.
