May I suggest you pop over to the Members Section and all will be revealed with respect to your question :)

The excellent guides for ESA/IB and DLA all contain a wealth of information that you'll find useful when attending a medical assessment.

I find this interesting too, for when mine comes up!

I dont really understand some of the things said on this forum, like this..

Is it better to pass a medical or fail a medical?

Surly if you fail sections you will gain points, but they talk about passing.

To me its not clear.

Technically, if you score enough points to qualify for the relevant benefit (meeting the threshold of incapacity), you have passed the medical.

However, from my experience, people who are not familiar with benefits take the opposite view and think you have to fail a medical to qualify for benefit.

Logically the PCA and WCA are designed to test your level of disability to see if you are unfit for work. As you receive an award if you are unfit for work, it does make sense to describe it as a pass. Nobody receives an award for failing, except perhaps bankers.

I think this is a question of semantics, perhaps some more learned input may be helpful.
