Have just received notification from JCP that I have been placed into Support Group with no Medical.

Thank you so much to all of those very important people who run Benefits and Work, have been a lurker for about a year, then joined up couple of months ago, so I could use the guides to complete my migration from IB to ESA.

Without question the Guides enabled me to give concise and accurate information, and I have no doubt that without them, the result could well have been entirely different.

Yes I found the whole process extremely difficult, took me 3 weeks to complete my papers, and submitted around 30 extra pages, and included evidence from my consultant and GP, my consultant evidence in particular I feel proved invaluable.

For those about to embark on this process, my main conditions are Systemic Lupus, Antiphosolipid Syndrome, Neuropathy and a whole host of secondary conditions caused by the first two mentioned.

Further, do include absolutely everything you cope with, no matter how small it may seen to you, it counts, and above all, do get as much evidence as you can, and get yourself some proper advice, I enlisted help also of CAB Welfare Rights Officer.

Huge huge thanks Benefits and Work Teams, I know you are all volunteers, and in ill health yourselves, this lady is eternally grateful to you.

And I have to say, the process from JCP to result took just 4 weeks to the day, and the 3 occasions I had to contact them, was met with friendly, and efficient staff. They do get a hard press as a rule, and deservedly so in most cases, but I do believe in credit where it is due.

Good luck to everyone else beginning their journeys.

Hi KM,

Thank you for letting us share your good news on getting straight into the SG.

Thanks also for your positive comments regarding B&W.

With regards to your comments regarding your communications with the DWP, I feel that this is a matter of pot luck, and you have been lucky.

Many of our members, myself included have received misinformation over the phone from the DWP.

In my own case, I was lucky that I was aware that the information that they were giving me was blatantly wrong.

For many claimants, especially those with mental health problems, this may not be the case.

Anyway, I'm not trying to put a dampener on your good news. :)

I hope that you gain a long award, and have a long period of peace where you can concentrate on dealing with your medical conditions. :)

cheers

bro58

Thank you Bro58.

I absolutely agree with you, and take your point, on the bad information given by DWP, trust me I have been on the receiving end of some of their nonsense in the past, you only have to read people experience here to form the view that good service tends to be the exception to the rule, unfortunately for us in the system.

But on this occasion fortunately for me I guess, I was pleasantly surprised.
