IB to ESA Success - Thanks to BnW! was created by Ziggy1957
I really cant say a big enough THANK YOU, enough times, to EVERY ONE OF YOU who set up, run and contribute to this site! .. whether it's in a professional capacity or as an ordinary member. In 2009 your site helped me get my DLA indefinitely. I was so ill and making myself more so worrying myself silly, scared witless on how to deal with the forms and authoritarianism of the DWP with no-one to for help. Last year July the same situation with the new ESA came up, and again I made my illnesses worse and myself more ill because I was so scared and frightened of the DWP and ATOS. BUT with a lot of determination and knowing I had the help, advice and guidance of the best friend I could have, on this site, I've successfully been transferred from IB to IRESA without a medical! Granted it took over a week to complete the form, enclosing 33 pages of typed intimate, detailed (embarrassingly honest) answers, (that I don't think I even admit to my own doctor) making myself more ill trying to complete the form- and then a long and worrying six months wait to finally get the decision I deserve - and finally breathe again. Without your site none of this would have happened - Im absolutely sure of that. I would and have advised anyone and everyone to become a member and have the same unlimited access to the help, advice and support only found on this site. Once again Thank you!

Many congratulations on being transferred successfully and thank you for your comments about B&W.
You do not say which group you have been placed in, so at the risk of reducing your elation
Having been transferred from IB you will have been placed on Contribution Based ESA, if you have been placed in the WRAG then I would expect your payments to only last 365 days, after which you may be eligible for Income Related ESA, subject to you meeting the associated means test.
If you have been placed in the Support Group, then this limit does not apply.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
