ESA result was created by Maddy2014
I've been placed in the SG for ESA, no medical and they didn't write to GP. I rang to ask how long this would last and was told I was given a "prognosis" of 3 years, therefore will be reassessed then. Considering my condition is degenerative, I am little perplexed by the three year thing. Also, do I still need to send fit notes in now? Thank you very much for your much needed and used notes on this whole process!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Maddy,
Congratulations! Thanks for letting us know
The whole philosophy behind the welfare reforms is that claimants will face periodic reassessment rather than being left alone. 3 years is the longest an ESA would normally go before reassessment (we have recently had the suspension of reassesments due to pressure of work but this is an exceptional (situation).
How often will I be reviewed
As long as you have had the official decision letter from DWP you no longer need to send in fitnotes.

Almost 5 months to get it completely sorted. There are so many variables unfortunately. i didn't have a medical and they didn't write to my GP. The longest part was getting them to agree that I was entitled to claim in the first place!
