Hi looking your opinion I was awarded 0 points in my pip assessment for epilepsy I was on high rate dla care and low rate mobility is there a chance that I will get a fairer result in mandatory appeal with the changes in points been awarded for epileptic

To be honest, probably not, however I would expect it to be an important factor at an appeal, unfortunately you have to go through the MR to get to the appeal process.

If a fairer chance is more likely now for pip and epilepsy, with all due respect Gordon, why do you feel a fairer chance In a MD would not be probably?
I’m just back from a dreadful face to face, they just ask questions not relevant to an Epileptic. I fear for my future. I did however go along with the appeal route. Thanks to advice from here with my ESA

Two reasons.

Revision rates at the MR stage are very low, the DWP quote 20% but we don't see anything like this is the forum.

DM's are not medically trained and are required to follow strict guideline in making their Decisions. As an example,. the guidelines for the new "safely" criteria has five examples, none of which actually result in the claimant scoring points!
