TOPIC: UC50 form

UC50 form 11 months 4 weeks ago #203534

Hello,

I'm on UC in the heart of the experiment in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have been supplying Sick Notes and have just received my UC50 form which is basically the same as an ESA50, but it states that I can go to 'gov.uk' website and search for 'UC50' to download a copy. However doing that returns 0 results. I have some of questions so I hope someone can help me:

1. Does Benefits and Work have a copy of the UC50 (09/17 version) to download or print out that I can use to practice on?

2. I saw my Work Roach on the day the letter accompanying the form is dated... I know they send the forms out independently but do you know if my Work Roach will have seen on the computer system they use for UC and known this was going to be sent to me?

3. I believe this is a deliberate tactic to try and ruin my Christmas/New Year as all the advocacy orgs will be shut for the festive period soon. The time permitted to return the form doesn't make allowances or extensions even for the 5 days holiday that, for example, JobcentrePlus and DWP offices are taking. Am I able to demand or request an extra 5 days grace in light of this fact?

4. Is the fact that the UC50 09/17 form is NOT available grounds for a complaint? The form gives instructions for finding the form on the gov.uk website which are entirely incorrect. A search for 'UC50' does not redirect to the ESA50 form that is available from the gov.uk website, nor does it state that the ESA50 can be substituted and sent to the assessment centre in place of the UC50 they have posted me. I presume if I do this my claim may be rejected?

I've found a copy of the UC50 but it is not interactive and would have to be printed and then filled in.

Government forms are copyrighted and can only be hosted by agreement, so we don't have copy of the UC50 on B&W.

If the process is carried out in the same way as ESA, which I would expect, then UC50 will have been issued by Maximus/CHDA, so I would not expect your Work Coach to know this.

The four weeks is stipulated in the ESA legislation.

You can make a complaint about it not being available on the Gov UK site but it would be entirely separate from your completing the form you have received
