DLA to PIP success was created by Anntran
My daughter is 49, autistic and has learning disabilities. She is assessed by Social Services as having substantial support needs and depends on domiciliary support from Mencap. She is vulnerable in the community and has often been exploited. Despite all of this being made clear in the application, and letters of support sent from her GP, Mencap and her Social Worker she was awarded only a total of 4 points. Following a request for mandatory reconsideration using your guides she has now been given 24 points, although all of her support needs were shown in the original application. How can this happen? Many thanks for your excellent guides. Although the DWP information claims that support is available from CAB I found that it wasn't. As a result of using your guides she now has the enhanced rate of PIP so is on a higher rate than on DLA.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Congratulations on getting the Decision revised, obviously a more senior Decision Maker paid more attention to your evidence than the original one did
Well done.

Thanks for the reply.
I have past experience as a CAB advisor but it still took me considerable time, effort and anxiety to do this. I worry about people who are less able to cope with the demands. Your guides are great but depend on a reasonably high level of literacy.
The system is inconsistent and unfair.
