My mum has mental health issues along with some other problems. she has been receiving pip for the last 4 years on higher rate for daily Living and standard rate Mobility. After a failed assessment then got f2f home visit, got decision high rate dropped to standard rate, ask for MR used your guides the best way I understood it, it’ had been over 6 weeks so chased last week, DWP very vague on phone but said I’d have a letter soon. I received decision nothing changed on Friday 26th June although all paperwork shows 6/6/18 therefore I now only have a few days to appeal, I am totally over whelmed with everything, can someone please help me as I know how important it is to get the SSCS1 in on time . Thank you

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Although appeals are normally required to be requested within one month of the date of the MR Decision letter, you can make a late appeal as long as you can provide Good Cause for it being late, not receiving the MR Notice in good time should be accepted for this.
There is a section on the SSCS1 that allows you to explain why the request is late.

Theresa18 wrote: Thank you Gordon for you quick reply, can I send the sscs1 in and then send addition details at a later date once I have a copy of the HP report as this is one of the main reasons I will be appealing together with them using the wrong GP report ?
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case now, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
The DWP's submission will include all of the documents ysed in the making of their Decision,m this will include the assessment report.

You need to provide basic reasons for your appeal on the SSCS1 but I would recommend your waiting until you have the DWP submission before you provide any detailed ones.
There is a completed SSCS1 and a sample appeal submission in the MR & Appeal Submission document in the PIP area.
