PIP Award Review

My award for PIP was granted standard rate care and standard rate for mobility from 14 December 2016 to 19 October 2019.

I was surprised to receive a letter today stating "we told you we'd write to you before your award ends to see if your needs have changed and to make sure your award is still right" as my award has over twelve months to run surely it is too early to complete a form especially as my condition is degenerative and will be different in six months time let alone 12 months, is it normal to be asked to complete a form so early
