i 've been studying the DWP PIP assessment guide Part 1 and 1.15.17 states that a claimant with an appointee must not be instructed to attend a face to face consultation by the AP. Is this new guidance and if so, when did it change?
My daughter has been awarded nil points on all the descriptors recently and we are now preparing to appeal to the tribunal, using all the help Benefits and Work can offer. The letter I as her appointee received concerning the date for face to face stated that "It is important that you go to this appointment. If you fail to do so without good reason, the decision-maker at the DWP is likely to refuse your claim"

I'm afraid I think that you are misreading the section. This is about the assessor not communicating with the claimant directly where there is an appointee, it does not mean that claimants with an appointee are not required to attend a face to face.
