Appeal success was created by thisandthat
Hi all,
Just to let you know I had my appeal on Tuesday, got my decision in the post today. I was shaking when I opened the letter, because I really wasn’t sure which way it would go for me.
Awarded enhanced rate for daily living from standard, and standard rate mobility, which has been backdated from April 2017. I am glad it is all over now until 2021, and given my mental health problems, I am quite glad I managed to see the whole process to the end. I believed all along that the assessor had really stitched me up with the descriptors, but now I have validation that I was right to fight the injustice of this chronic system, of which is not fit for purpose. I honestly believe it is corrupt and in contempt of human rights, and causes nothing but misery for so many. Thanks to all that have helped, and the information on this site, which has helped without a doubt.
Jonathan

That is brilliant news, well done.

It usually takes the DWP 5-8 weeks to process a Tribunal result, I would give them a call at the end of the week to confirm they have received the Decision Notice.

Hello Helen-Louise,
I have just read your other post and I can see that you are facing the same issues I did and still do. Can I just say it is possible for you, but it is a long hard slog and it will take a lot of time and energy to go to appeal. My medical report might have been for someone else, it certainly wasn’t me, it was a lot of misconstrued lies and deeply upsetting and so annoying that at the M/R stage they just rubber stamp the first decisions based on the assessors report, the PIP form you fill out is a waste of time tbh, until you get to appeal.
Please have the courage to do it, after all that’s what the DWP hope you don’t want to do. I have mental health problems and have done since 2008, which is when I first started having dealings with the DWP, although originally it was my physical disability that I sought help for. This time I was not going to let them get away with it without a fight, and even had I not won the appeal, it would have still been a personal win to me, just seeing it through to the end. I truly hope you give it a go, there is lots of help on here, and possibly you could get representation, but it’s very difficult given the high workload they have, maybe unless it’s paid for. If I could live without being on benefits I truly would, life would be so much nicer for me, but I can’t and it’s a continuous battle with the DWP, and it does wear you down. I really though at first I can’t be bothered with appeal, it was at a pretty low point in my life, but I was getting help for that, which in turn gave me the strength to pursue it on my own. If I can do it, I am pretty sure you could.
If I can be of any help, just let me know. Take care and don’t worry about it to much, it’s really not worth it.
Best Wishes Jonathan

Hi ,
Please could you tell me what the appeal is? Do you have to travel long way to a court ? How many people are there ? Is it like the assessment? I have recently had a my pip face to face re assessment and am worried what the asseser has put on the form,
I was physically sick and had a panic which made me wet myself ,
I am really worried about having to go through more
Thanks
