PIP home visit was created by gourley1
Hi there, first post on B&W, please bear with me. I recently had a PIP f2f home visit Assessment, it lasted from start to finish 31 minutes is that the norm. I was asked about my old (years ago) medication, which i had forgot to list historically on my PIP Questionnaire for approx 5 minutes, but had supplied current medication list with Questionnaire, questioned on medication for approx 7 minutes in total.
The HP argued with me at the start saying I had done an Assessment before for DLA I told the HP it was for ESA they would not back down on this leaving me stressed before the assessment even started, is this normal.
I have amongst other things a hearing disability, the HP kept coming back to this for some reason. On one occasion I could not make out what the HP had said, they had to asked again still I could not hear or understand what they had said to me, the HP eventually had to actually spell the word they were trying to convey to me, even though I had both hearing aids in my ears and they were no more than 3ft from me and talking loudly.
They did not ask me to walk, physical assessment lasted about 2 minutes they did not ask to see my therapy plans, in fact they skipped my home treatments totally along with skimmed over some to the sections, appeared to be in a rush, is this time for an assessment, normal, thanks

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

From your post, this was not a normal assessment!

You should be able to request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, once you have this you will have a better understanding of how it went in reality and can then take action.

Hi gourley1
As Gordon says get hold of your assessment report. The fact that your assessment was so short does not always mean a bad outcome - sometimes they have enough information. My friend's was only 15 minutes. When I had my own, I was only asked one question about medication, was asked to grip her hands - which I could not do and I was not made to walk. Nor was I asked about any care plans (which I have). I was fortunate - I had a good outcome and hopefully you will too. Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell until you get the report and/or the award.

Thanks BIS, I filled in my PIP Questionnaire roughly 5500 words of it, plus old Doctors' Report, Plus a nine year old report about my Deafness and Tinnitis from an ENT Consultant, but it all seemed so rushed to me and my wife, who was there the whole time and typed some notes onto a computer, but who knows.

Also forgot to mention, I received a text from the Department for Communities this morning saying they have received the HP's Assessment Report back.
