Anybody on here getting ESA for Fibromyalgia. Ive had chronic back and leg pain for yrs and a few months back diagnosed with Fibro. I struggle and not sure where to start plus where id meet the criteria as the fibro varies. I also have RSI both hands so find using computers differcult but more recently its headaches and shoulder/top of back. Because of how the condition varies i have not a hope of getting employed.
Simple things like sitting in the car for work everyday i cant be sure id be able to do that all the time. Doing repetetive stuff makes my arms fatigue and hurt. Any advice from others who sufferer similar id appreciate it as at the min im on JSA and UC is soon upon us and it's tough and ive not even mentioned the increasing dark thoughts i get. GRRRRRR i just no ill brakdown trying to hold down a job :(

There's no reason why you should qualify for ESA due to your Fibromyalgia but ESA does not consider your condition but rather the limitations that result in regard to the ESA activities.

Have a look at our ESA Claim guides for details of the criteria you will need to meet.

Have checked Gordon and TY, but because its a varying condition i find it differcult to explain as you never no one min to the next whats going to be playing up. All i no is trying to do somthing repetively can leave my arms neck shoulder ache and fatigued. Some days i can sit ok others not but i use a comfy office type chair and a seat wedge.
Just wanted to hear how others with fibro explained their condition as simple things like the weather can play havoc. Think i sit in the struggle to get ESA but wont get employed as you wont no if you can manage something until you try it. I did just hold down a charity shop role of 16hrs b4 being diagnosed but that was simply tagging sorting donations and a bit of stock rotation that killed me. Was on limit of meds. Mental health is poor also which it often is with this condition. Feeling hopeless, regular dark thoughts etc. Getting a blooming headache now from just typing this little bit. Enough from me anyway. Have a gd weekend folks.
