Thankyou and questions re IB to ESA was created by j112009
Just to say amassive thankyou to this site for all of the information available. I have been migrated from Incapacity to ESA (CB) Support group. :)

However on the decision letter it says the benefit will be paid from 22 May 2013 to 25 November 2013 so does this mean I've got it for 6 months?

I rang DWP last weds 15th May and it was a telephone call place and I asked the woman how long I had the benefit for and she said there was nothing showing on the screen only that it was the support group. I've just seen a post from yesterday when someone was told on the phone 36 mths and their decision letter indicated 6 months of payment also. I am confused.

I also asked for the documents used to deal with my claim and she seemed surprised that I wanted to see them. She sent an email to the office dealing with it and so far I have heard nothing. Should I be looking to make a SAR re this ( if someone could tell me what that is) or ring them again or write to them. If I write who should I address the letter to?

Sorry this is long but the whole process has left my brain frazzled. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi j11,

Congratulations on The SG award !!!! :)

Thank you for your kind comments regarding B&W.

The November date on your decision notice letter, has nothing to do with the recommended length of your award. (The Prognosis)

It is purely for administration purposes and is tied in with payment of the Xmas Bonus.

They do generally have the prognosis on screen, however their systems may not have updated yet.

If you have any problems obtaining the ESA documentation that you seem to have requested verbally, (e.g.ESA 85/A Medical Report, LT54) you could make a subject access request.

You could particularly request the prognosis, and on which ESA Regulation/s you were placed into The SG.

SAR :

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/request-for-personal-information.rtf

From this page :

www.dwp.gov.uk/privacy-policy/data-protection/

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

ESA Forms

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

You should address any SAR, FAO Data Controller, at the Benefits Office dealing with your ESA.

You could also write DPA 1998 SAR in the front.top left corner of the envelope.

Hi j112009,

I've been given the link by bro58 regarding the answer to your post as my question was very similar to yours.

I was wondering how you'd got on as I'm too finding this all very confusing? I was thinking of phoning DWP, would you say it is a waste of time (from the experience you've had)?
best wishes
Brian
