Thanks to your detailed guides i have been put in the ESA support group.
The letter does not however state for what period which seems strange. I thought they awarded it for a fixed period eg 12 months.
I did not have a face to face assessment due entirely to a detailed report done by my consultant. My assessment was cancelled upon them receiving this report, they originaly said they had not received it !!!! It was sent by special delivery!!! So it was faxed to them and they then said i didnt need an assessment.
So my advice to all is get a report by your consultants and make sure they receive it.

Hi v,

That is good news, thanks for letting us all know. :)

Each ESA award comes with a recommended length of time before reassessment. (the prognosis)

How often will I be reviewed

As you did not have a face to face the prognosis should be included in the ESA85A medical report, there will also be an LT54 form which may include other information.

You can request the ESA85A by ringing The DWP, we also recommend that you submit a written request.

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

I don't understand how they can just tell you that you have been placed in the support group without stating for what length of time, my last IB50 claim stated my review date ie Jan 2013.
Surely they should tell you how long not just leave us guessing??
thank you

The administration and processes associated with ESA are appalling, but that aside, the DWP are not required to provide this information, ESA awards are indefinite and the re-assessment date does not form part of the Decision.

They did, briefly, send an ESA72 with the Decision Notice which amongst other things specified the re-assessment date, but even that seems to have fallen by the wayside.
