DLA Appeal and High rate mobility

Our feeling is that he should be on high rate mobility but not sure how to argue the case. His rheum specialist is very nice but not very helpful when writing reports for DWP.
Any advice appreciated
Thank you

He has an indefinite award. 4 years ago he had an additional diagnosis -- Juvenile arthritis ---which worsened his existing mobility difficulties (he has learning disabilities and is visually impaired, and already had difficulties with walking due to his condition with impaired gait fallen arches, balance etc , f). DWP knew about the new diag but considered that low rate mobility was still appropiate. In May we made an application for high rate mobility again and again refused. Looking at B&W guides it does seem bordlerline re. whether he is very slow in walking BUT the difficult for us is an assessing how he really is because a) if he walks too far he will spend next day/two days resting /in bed and b) because of his learning disabilities he finds it very hard to assess/communicate how much pain he is in. If you ask him he'll just say 'It's fine' when it clearly is not fine at all

Hi n,
Missed your post yesterday.
We can't really give advice pertaining to someone's personal circumstances, and whether or not they may or may not qualify for a certain level of a DLA component.
The best that I can do, is point you towards the following, where there are DLA claims and appeal guides.
DLA Guides
