The stress of waiting for result after PIP medical

Hi Dorothy thank you for your message. Its a difficult time and it can take a lot out of you.

I still haven't heard anything, so its more than 7 weeks now. They wrote to me around a month ago saying they would be sending me a decision as they had all the information they needed. But have not heard a dickie-bird since. As you may know Mrs Hurtyback said some areas are taking up to 8 weeks. I will return here once I hear anything about the decision.

Take care as much as you can and best wishes.

Hi Mm,

I think I would be considering asking DWP what is happening if a decision does not arrive soon.

I rang them this morning. There is a letter in the post. I asked for the result over the phone, and they told me.

Zero points, zero award.

I am both surprised and not surprised.

Tearful though.

Thanks to Hurtyback and Gordon for help along the way.

I hope you do better with DWP Dorothygate. Don't worry too much. You may get an award, as I think quite a few do with ME/CFS if you are lucky with good evidence, particularly as you had home visit / are bed bound so much, which I am not.

Hi MayMax,

I am so sorry that your PIP claim has been refused :(

Did you ever request a copy of the assessor's report? It would certainly be helpful if you decide to ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration.

Another option would be to reapply - you can do this straight away if you wish.

Hi May Max

Thank you for letting us know.

I'm very shocked and sad for you that you scored 0. How can this be?
I don't know the severity of your M.E. but I definitely know that life with this illness is devastating and I'm so sorry they didn't recognise this for you.
My doctor told me to not be discouraged if my claim fails and that 'they' are failing aloft of claimants in the hope they won't bother appealing but alot have been awarded upon an appeal and to not give up.
I understand though the affect all this has on our illness and appealing may just seem too much to bear...?
Lots of my friends with M.E have been successful however they are mostly bedbound and/or housebound...
I'm so sorry you've been dealt this blow. I always feel it's worth asking get for a reconsideration..maybe get your gp on board or get some advice from the ME association helplines?
Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. Keep fighting x
