PIP - should i wait? was created by roadrunner
Hello all,
I am procrastinating over applying for PIP. I think I should have done so years ago. I have severe anxiety and depression and my health professional (I am under the care of the hospital team) says I should apply and would support me with a report. I have read the BW supplement guides and have written down how it all affects me and i am also in the process of doing a 2 week diary. I probably stand a chance on the mobility part. Having thought about these things it has brought up other daily living issues. I have balance problems, and suffer migraines. The neurology hospital has wriiten to my gp last week to advise how to treat it.( I had a brain tumour some time ago and I lost sight in one eye). I have yet to ring my gp. I had a hearing test on the high st this week and I have low frequency loss in both ears and was told to talk to my gp as there could be issues in my ear having explained my symptoms. A few years ago the neurology hospital requested I referal for a hearing test to my gp but i did not hear anything and did not want to bother the gp for trival matters. Last year I had my thyroid removed as it was cancerous so I have up and down issues with energy and food, just cant get it right with the homones tablets. My question is should I go ahead and apply rather than wait for the gp to refer me for tests and thereby gather evidence on these other things that have cropped up that I was not aware of. They all contribute to my overall daily living. It is becoming more pressing as I think i ought to do it before any government changes apply. I guess I am trying to avoid having to claim again if i had to add more conditions if i dont tell them in the first place. Thank you for any experienced advice in advance.

Hi roadrunner

We cannot advise you on what to do, have you tried B&W self-tester, if you click on the PIP tab at the top of the page a number of boxes will appear, one will be titled "Take the PIP test" it will ask for your email address to send you your result, it cannot tell you for definite but it does give you an indication.

There are 12 questions, each question comes with a number of answers, I would advise you to start from the last answer for instance (g) then work up.to (a) and click on the answer that fits you.
