The government is set to close the “bedroom tax loophole” from 3rd March 2014.{jcomments on}

An amendment has been passed which means that anyone who has been living in social sector housing and has been eligible for continuous full entitlement to Housing Benefit since 1996, will no longer be entitled to exemption from the bedroom tax.

These claimants will in future be subject to the bedroom tax in the same way as other claimants.
